  1. The traditionalist in me loves it. The modern day rugby fan in me thinks it is a waste of time and an unfair advantage to the team doing the 'traditional' dance - it's not just the all-blacks that do this nonsense. The other team have to stand there getting cold whilst they kill time and dictate the pace of it all.

Next the English will be wanting to do a Morris dance before each game. At least the Welsh stood up to them last year and they really spat the dummy, refusing to do it before the National anthems.

That tells you all you need to know about why they insist on doing it.

  2. There is nothing like experiencing the 'Haka' live! I've been fortunate to see it and oh my god! the hairs on the back of my neck stood up! The Samoan, Fiji and Tongan rugby teams also have their versions of the 'Haka'. The Tongan one is quite scary, they look as if they're going to kill you before the match has even started!

    lmao

  4. yeh i love it, it makes the game exciting for the first tem mintues anyway...

As for"Jamhed' comment, nzders were the only ones with a tradional dance b4 a game now a few countries have got it...thats not new zealanders fault why every team wants to do 1...n playrs have to stand there n get cold n have to wait for the player to kick a goal so whats the difference...what a poor excuse...

Im just wondering why they changed the haka after so many years I like the new one and the old one too...

    GO DA ALL BLACKS

  5. Oh the Alll Black Haka! what more can l say about it.  l migrant ed to this country 20 years ago with no knowledge about rugby. By accident, l changed the channel to watch something else, and got the The all black play Oz for the Bledisloe cup. Ooh! the Haka and the game. Lost that game when Wilson was tackle by Gregon at the last second. It sank my heart, but the Haka got me hook, line and sinker. Now l got goose bump on my back and a lump in my throat and pride in my spine when the Haka comes on. Others try to imitate it, but the Man In Black is the Best.

  6. Yeah, I love it. They should have one hour of haka and 2 minutes of rugby match.

  7. no

  8. Yes as i come from NZ. I love it

  9. When I watched Wales vs NZ the Haka sent all goose pimples around my body. Its fantastic

  10. I think it is intimidating for any opposition but it looks and sounds great.

  11. no,it reminds me that the in laws will be around sooner rather than later!ha ha!

  12. The haka is a war dance and they really mean it seen it a few times close up at rugby league games its awsome but this is a mans game maybe they could do a football version for the little pretty boys.

  13. most impressive aka in 2007 was the one they did when they played France in quarter finals.

soooo much tension. They were so close to the french team...simply amazing....

unfortunately NZ lost this game...it's like they energized the opposite team with their aka.

  14. I am a great rugby, fan, and play myself, the Haka has a lot of History, and is exceptionally clever. The way the Kiwi's (No im not an aussi, i'm english and in 2 years im moving to NEw Zealand) Do the Haka is exceptional. If you look the main reason they do the haka is to scare their opponents, it is like throwing down the gauntlet you could say, threatining them, dring them to come and get it.

  15. yeah the all blacks haka its really great.and New Zeland its a assome country and d All Blaks team its Wow..maguinifique...., but i really love Pumas rugby team...

  20. i do love that haka n am a rugby fan,hiw ever much i c it,it neva stops amusin me.not even the smoa haka can match it

  21. Yes, I think it's great! A piece of tradition that looks impressive. I know it's supposed to be intimidating but it doesn't look it to me (but then I'm not facing it on the rugby pitch!!)

BTW I'm not a rugby fan, although I'd rather watch rugby than football!

    Details of it here:

  22. NEW ZEALAND IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD GO LIVe THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  23. Im not that big of a rugby fan, but on my first and so far only trip to New Zealand I got to see them perform their infamous haka. I got that tingling feeling in my back as they finished up and was amazed how much this energized the crowd. After understanding about half of what I was watching I thought of how much of a great experience it is to attend a International Rugby Match (or any sport). I even went and bought an All Blacks Jersey to show my support. I love them for opening my eyes to this great sport and I hope one day to emigrate to NZ, because in reality a country's people, culture and sports make it such a great place.
