I have a Sky dish up on the house, but apparently not aiming for the satellite. Don't need a full installation, but everybody I have checked with just want to charge in excess of eur 80, which is the same price of a full installation. Also dont want to subscribe to Sky because I find ridiculous the amounts they re charging since the new price structure in 2005. Live in Artane, Dublin 5

  1. Apparently the wind can knock the dishes off line so they need to be realigned sometimes.

However, you should know this, the Sky franchise contracts out all its maintenance work to sub-contractors ie. one-man- and-his-van. I would look at your Sky contract very clearly, you may be lucky, but generally you are obliged to pay for this service. To be honest, you're getting away lightly with €80. I know people who have been charged €120 plus VAT. It's a bummer though.

  2. Why not - try doing it yourself. See how d**n difficult it is to do & then decide if the prices they are asking really are a rip-off.

  3. you can buy satellite finders
