  1. I know I like and trust politicians a lot more than most people.  Politicians are really misunderstood.  Tim Russert knew it, and I think I do, too.

Why don't you try making sense of every complex political issue and holding your clear, unequivocal stance on it for several years?  You are expected to give the same answers to the same questions every day, no matter if your venue is Meet the Press, a local newspaper, or (God help you) MTV.

Oh, and then try the ugly task of raising money.  And the ugly task of listening to bonehead constituents complain about gas prices every minute of the day.

I'm sure I'll get a ton of thumbs-down for that answer.

  2. It seems today that "most" political figures in the gov't are power hungry. They all want to be on top and give the government loads of power. Both Republicans and Democrats alike are expanding the strength of the federal gov't. Though I am a Republican, I am a conservative first, and  I am afraid that Republicans and Democrats are becoming the same.

As Thomas Jefferson says, "A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

I can't trust the government to do anything for me because our federal gov't has become very inefficient. They are trying to encroach upon all of our personal matters. The purpose of the federal gov't was to support infrastructure and create a strong feeling of national security. Most power was to be given to the states or the people.

Basically, at the moment, I don't trust the federal gov't with anything because once they get a hold of something, they don't let go, and they end up acquiring more and more strength. Nowadays the power of the government is rivaling that of a socialist country.

  3. I dislike the government.

  4. No one really likes the government, and trusting is completely out of the question!

IN some small countries like Switzerland people are beter rapresented by the government and therefore their views might be better rapresented but that does not happen in other countries where the distance between governments and people is larger!

  5. “Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.” ... Thomas Paine

I believe what our founders said.  They are the ones who formed this government.  They hated government.  They likened it to a fire in your fireplace.  Good while contained in the firebox, but life threatening if it gets out of the firebox (out of control).

I hate government, just as our Founding Fathers did.  It is their advice to distrust government.  They were smarter then anyone in government today.  I think I'll take their advice.

  6. i trust and love the British Government and Monarchy.

    Rule Britania!

  7. lol if anyone says yes they are nuts!

  8. The Likes are the controllers and moneychangers which are in cahoots with each other and  trust is minimal  in a smaller core group...

  9. i love my  government and i trust them to protect us

  10. yes the lawyers-big business-oil companies -and all other criminal elements on this planet

  11. To respond, I assume you mean the United States Government? Yes, I think the elected representatives of our framework do respond to stimulus. But, on the other hand is the bureaucrats that are like a vampire or zombie that continues on through the generations of elected administrations. I would refer you to J. Edgar Hoover, former head of the FBI. Read up on the history of Truman, Kennedy, LBJ, and Nixon. Hoover is onstage and at the center of the action through every presidental term.

Examples like John McVicker, CIA / overseas Embassy personnel,  Guy Bannister, former FBI and later, a rouge "janitor".

We elect civic-minded officials that turn around and make clandestine arrangements with contract jailers, private police, private armies and intelligence agencies that we know nothing about and should fear.
