  1. If Windows crashes during startup or shutdown, you'll be presented with this screen the next time you turn on your computer.  Usually, there's nothing to worry about.

    First, try "start windows normally"

If that doesn't work, try "use last good configuration"

If that doesn't work, try "safe mode", then choose to run in safe mode (do not revert to a restore point) and then restart your computer.

If that doesn't work, call tech support.

  2. try last good configuration or safe mode if all fails you need a new windows disk (to run on start-up and fix windows) go here to get one: http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCategory....

when you do you can go into your setup then boot sequence then make sure your cd drive is the first one then exit setup save changes and then put your disk in restart your computer then when you see press any key to boot disk press enter when you enter the setup select setup windows and you can either format (this will erase everything on your computer including setups pics, music etc.) if you have not backed up data i do not recommend this but you can select no changes and it will put all your data in your local disk c (hidden files) and all your data will be in there (also this might install two windows operating systems but you can uninstall them later)

good luck!!!! :) and if you need more help with this issue or any other computer issues we can chat on msn (hotmail) if you don't have msn messenger get it here: http://get.live.com/messenger/overview and we can chat about computer prob. and stuff (I'm like 10 times smarter than tech support lol)

    good luck!!!! :)

  3. Can you start up in safe mode at all ?

    If Not....

Have you got the OS disk or a recovery CD to hand or can you get hold of one.... If so you can Follow This.

    1. Boot your computer from your Windows XP Cd. To do this, insert your CD and turn your computer on. When the menu comes up, select boot from CD (do not select boot from hard drive).

    2. Your computer will begin to boot. Eventually, you will see a screen asking you what you would like to do. Press the letter R on your keyboard to proceed to the Windows Recovery Console.

    3. You may be asked for your administrator password. If you have one, type it in and press enter. If you do not have a password to boot your computer into Windows, simply press enter.

    4. Now you should be at a command prompt. from here, type the following command without the quotes and press enter: "chkdsk /r"

    5. This test will take a while depending on the size of your drive. It will look for the errors on your drive and repair them. When it completes, you will be back at a command prompt.

    6. Remove the floppy disk or CD from your system and restart the PC.

    7. If this still fails, Redo this procedure but instead of typing "chkdsk /r" type "chkdsk /p"

    Good Luck

    Comms.

If you still find that you have difficulties Visit http://forums.vnunet.com

  4. Select "Start Windows with Last good configuration" and hit the enter key.  You can select this using the arrow keys.

If this does not work.  Re-install the windows from the CD.

  5. First try last known good configuration option

or you can boot into safe mode and when a dialog box appears and says do you want to continue into safe mode, click "No" then system restore should appear and you can restore from there
