Hi, i'm looking for friends/people who are willing to help me. I'm considering seriously to migrate to NZ. In order to be able to submit the Expression of Interest (to apply NZ PR) form, i must achieve point between 100-140. Now, my point is 90, if i could get a job offer, i would get another 50 points. Thus, i would like to know, is there anyone has the experience in this (find a job in NZ as a foreigner and get the NZ PR). Or maybe you can give some links to job sites, or you know some vacancy as Interior Designer, Architectural Draft person, or Graphic Designer (i've tried some of the link from NZ gov site). Anyway, i'm an interior designer with 3 years experience, and i have a bachelor degreen in architecture. I have some experience in graphic design as well, though i don't have the formal education for this. Right now i'm working in Singapore, but i'm not a Singaporean. Anyone who can help, pls email to myostic@yahoo.com. Your help is appreciated. Many thanks.

  1. Good luck in your job search.  We apparently have a resource shortage in New Zealand at the moment, so you shouldn't have too many problems.

Try the following sites.  I would also recommend looking at the New Zealand yellow pages (http://www.yellowpages.co.nz) for suitable companies and cold emailing (or calling) them to ask if they are looking for anyone.

  2. I had the same problem when I first arrived here 14 years ago.  They wouldn't give me a job without a job offer and then when I got the job offer the company had to prove they had tried every other means of ensuring a local got offered the job first.

This is a good way of doing it but not at the moment when there is an altime shortage right across the board for skills.

I have attached a job site where they are advertising for your line of work.

    Good Luck!
