  1. yeah, of course, but thats expensive, you might as well keep the lhd and pay the extra insurance

  2. American built cars will not last very long in europe as their suspensions are useless, also the cost of bringing it over and there would be no after market parts, also the Vehicle regrestration cost would be huge, and your annual road tax would be gigantic, a 3 litre vehicle is about €1000 or €1450 per year to tax, get a irish 2 litre car its about €544 to tax for the year,

diesels are very popular her as they are less problematic more economical and some are powerfull eg 130bhp passat tdi. 160bhp bmw 320d.

diesels here(europe) are more advanced than the states, and are as popular as petrol(gas). The diesel is of better quality and better refined with less sulphates.

If its an american built car like an accura you will not find the parts as they are not sold here, if its a european built car then you might but it would not be worth it as you would have to find a matching dash, change your pedals and stering colum, if its sold as a right hand drive then there might be a space to change over the colum. to  much work, if its a classic car then bring it over there are plenty of clubs here for american classics you wont need to change it over.

  3. If you like the car bring it and keep it lhd, changing the firewall will cost thousands, if not sell it

  4. Oh for god's sake, have a bit of sense. The insurance will be astronomical if you don't change, and changing it will cost you the earth.

Sell your cars before you come over, and get yourself a good secondhand car from a reliable dealer, it will be a bit pricier but they are under guarantee and each car must pass its NCT for roadworthiness and emissions, obligatory if the car is 4 years or older. If you're moving to a city, just get one car between two, much easier that way.

  5. I cannot seriously believe that it would be worth the cost even if you can find somebody who can do it.

I think that it would be better to sell your car before you leave and buy a new car when you get to Ireland.

Buy a car that is common in Ireland and you will not have the problems associated with servicing an American car.
