Is there anything I can add to my protein shake that will give me energy?

Lately i been going to the gym after school and I am wiped out. Is there anything I can add to my protein shake that will give me energy? Or should I drink a energy drink with zero carbs and low calories?

  1. I usually have protein with carbs before I workout, so maybe eat an apple or banana. Then postworkout have a protein drink with milk  


  2. Caffeine. But I don't recommend using caffeine regularly.

    Are you talking about pre- or post-workout? In a post-workout shake, you should add simple carbs because they get easily digested and help with the absorption of protein (through insulin and all those body processes). If you're tired before even hitting the gym, take a fruit with you (like a banana) and eat it an hour or more before working out.
