Question:

Is there anything I can do about my cat's temper?

She loses her temper whenever something falls, or she hears a loud noise, and sometimes for no reason. She claws our feet and jumps at us from out of nowhere. We don't want to put her to sleep, she is a good cat most of the time, but sometimes she hurts anyone for no reason.

She was never like this before, and we thought spaying her would calm her temper, but she's only slightly less angry. My cat is 4 years old, we spayed her 2 months ago. There is a baby in the house, so we can't have her freaking out over every little thing. Please help

  1. check out this site,it will give you a lot more ideas about, and what to do with your cat.

  2. Sounds like my cat. For her I  learned that she was trying to tell me she really is an outside cat. She has learned that she gets to go out when I'm home but must come in at night or when I leave for work. But for you it sounds like the baby is getting the attention now that she used to get and like a 'little sister' she is jealous. Hope this helps. Good luck.

  3. get rid of that old p***y,you have a kid now.

  4. Like some before me- I would recommend the herbal stuff-  You can find it at a health store even- The Vitimin shop carries it.  It contains camomile and valerian.  You can by these in extracts but you must know the doses- one of them can be harmful if given too much.  I gave this to my charlie when I had to put him in a carrier.  Keep in mind that these herbs start working after three days or so don't expect immediate changes- also if you take this route- get a syring  (without the needle of course) that will shoot the stuff into kitties mouth- the droppers that they come with do not work.

  5. Look for a product call Feliway at your pet store. It helps cats calm down.

    Here's some I found online: http://catfaeries.com/feliway.html

  6. when my cat gets his claws out

it usually means he wants something

try playing with her or letting her go out.

Even take her to her food bowl or litter box
