There's this car that keeps going by my house tonight; it revs up REALLY loud...I mean it sounds louder than the jets that go over (I live in the jet noise zone for Langley AFB in Hampton, Virginia)!

Is there any way of reporting this? I can't see what the car looks like or what the license plate number is or anything, because I'm visually impaired and it's dark out (obviously, being 10pm)...is this something appropriate to call the police to come check on the problem, or is it not even worth the time and effort?

They've gone by three times already in the last two hours, and just went by again...it shakes the entire house and is freaking my cat out really bad.

  1. Call the police with the non-emergency number located in the phone book (or online), let them know your problem and politely ask for them to check in on the situation if/when they have the time.  The vehicle is most likely violating a noise ordinance as well as an exhaust requirement.  Be very polite with the police and mention that you have a visual impairment so you can't give them a description.  Be sure to mention that it has come through your neighborhood 4 times in the past two hours and is keeping you awake.
