  1. Don't add salt or sugar or pepper


  2. Add as many veges as possible...  It mixes flavours up and gives you all the extra vitamins and minerals...

    You can add crushed up or chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, pine nuts, almonds, macadamias etc etc)...

    You can add healthier cheeses like low fat ricotta, cottage cheese or feta....

    For a fresh taste the best herb is coriander (cilantro) or basil....


  3. Tastier?  I roast my chicken in a can of chicken broth with roasted garlic and some white wine, and my beef roasts in beef bullion, garlic and red wine.  I score my steaks and add slivers of garlic before grilling, and marinate them in a terriyaki-roasted garlic sauce.  

    Come to think of it, I guess the garlic would qualify for healthy, too, huh?  Other spices can be used that are not unhealthy like ginger, thyme, rosemary, basil and oregano.  Pepper is also not unhealthy.  Hot spices, hot peppers and horseradish are good for releasing endorphines that help fight colds.

    I think Italian or Japanese spices and marinades are the most flavorful.  They can be used when lightly sauteeing veggies, meats or noodles.

    You can't make food fresher than what it is when you prepare it.
