Question:

Is there anything I can do to prepare myself for a naval piercing?

I had it done before but I didn't go to a very clean place. After having my son, it closed up and I want to get it redone. The first time was ridiculously painful... So, I was wondering if it's ok to take advil or ibprofen beforehand - will it do anything pain wise???

  1. dot take pain meds. they are blood thinners.

  2. You can purchase a pad or cream at your local pharmacy that is designed to numb the area. I used some on my hands when I had to get numerous shots and I didn't feel a thing.

As for the advil, you should probably go to the person who will be piercing your navel a few days before and ask what you can do to minimise the pain.
