Is there anything I need to be careful about "writing a prisoner"?

I searched through their website for an hour and picked up a prisoner to write to. Is there anything that I need to be careful about? I just kinda don't feel safe giving them my address, I was wondering what others do and if I'm being worried for no reason.

Any suggestions?

p.s. Please no "Don't write the murderers/criminals" speech.

  1. Dont give him yur personal info like were u live and ur phone # or ur name

  2. I think its great that you are writing someone in prison. It will make their day/week/month. Most people in prison have alot more to them than just the crime they committed. They are still real people with real feelings and emotions and to care about that says alot about you because most people now don't care one bit. Anyways, Just don't give any personal information. If you don't want them to have your address, get a PO box for them to write back to. You can totally leave out your last name, or any information that you feel might lead someone to find out who and where you are. Just be a person that cares enough to write, you dont have to be a specific Identity!
