  1. http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/...

  2. I have always found Valerian root to be helpful.

  3. Sometimes Respidol, Ativan or Seroquel will be used.   Especially if you are worried or have anxiety. Drowsiness is a side effect with these meds.  Ask your doctor.

    Good luck

  4. Melatonin is a natural non-prescription sleep aid. it's actually the same thing that your body makes at night.

About $5/7 a bottle in any drugstore.

  5. I always found that essential oils help

but you have to get 100% pure oils

    lavendar

    cinonmin

    bergamot

    rosemary

    chamomile

you could also try chamomile or mint tea or mix them together or sleepy time tea

    another thing to consider.

    you need a sleep rotine

many people have to do this

do not use the bedroom for anything but sleep and s*x

do not read in bed or watch tv or work on a pc

do not get ready to go out or anything

that way you assosiate you bedroom with sleep

you also might want to devoloup a rotine that you do every night.

we have found that you do not even need to go to bed at the same time as we recommend shift workers to do this

take about 30 min's do things in the same order

    brush your teeth

have a cup of tea (and only that that kind of tea when going to bed)

read for a few min's (but not in your bedroom)

    take a bath

    wash your face

but take some time to sit quietly for a few min's

it is important that you do things in the same order

so your brain assosiates these activities with sleeping.

you can put lavendar on your pillow just a couple of drops or use a defuser

there are also some relaxation exercises that you could do

if you are interested feel free to email me

the above might take a week or two to work but the good thing about it is no side effects
