Is there anything better and/or cheaper than the kindle?

I not sure what the kindle really is, but I want to be able to read palm size because I have so many books, but cannot carry them all. I just need a mass stoarge system the size of my palm

Not sure if it is better but, Sony has a few models. Not sure how they compare to the Kindle.

BTW you know E-book readers, you buy or download the book from your computer and then transfer it to the device.
