  1. Not a lot, castle with a good museum just opposite, bear in mind it is always raining in Cumbria.


  2. There are a lot of national trust places in the surrounding area.  Check out www.nationaltrust.org.uk, or www.10best.com/Carlisle/index.html

    If that doesn't take your fancy try a trip East out along Hadrians wall.

    Whilst Carlisle is sometimes highly underated there is a lot of  history there!

  4. I was their four yours ago it was only for a couple of days,  but I cant remember anything memorable about the place

    it has a nice town centre and there are a lot of places to go within 10 miles of town

    or head south into the Lake District, keswick is 30mins away.

  8. yes a day trip from Glasgow to the pubs in carlise for a cigarette - until 1st July.
