67 billion gallons - The amount of mud, sand, and gravel the Mississippi River Delta deposits at it's mouth every year.

The delta supplies Cajun and Creole Cuisine with shrimp, crabs, shellfish and craw fish from numerous bayous, a term first used by the "acadians".

16-18% of the nation's oil supply flows through the Delta.  Much of the domestic oil production is within a hundred miles of the delta.
