Is there anything other than cat liter that will soak up unused paint left in cans?

Lisa let the paint set with lid off for about two weeks, it will get hard and dry up.  You can put it in trash.

Sawdust or an old towel.

shovel dirt or sand in it.

Buy or get a cheap piece of plywood, place a sheet of tin foil on it, pour the paint out on it and let it dry. Then you will be able to discard it in the dumpster.
