What would be best to treat it with or what should I do? There is some rotted wood on the bottom that goes through to the inside, the side, and the top rails...only in small spots....

...I think the canoe is made mostly out of plywood if that makes a difference...

  1. If it's rotted you need to replace it

  2. you should try o replace it but if you cant they make something for rotted wood and turns it rock hard  i cant think of the name right nowits a liguid and you saturate the wood with it  oh yeah  i think its called glovit   go to www.boatersworld.com and search that product it will tell you whats its good for

    good luck

  3. I would remove the rotted wood with a dremel type grinding drill. You can use marine grade epoxy (Marinetex?) along with scraps of wood to create a patch. Then add a layer of fiberglass cloth and resin to finish it. Hope this helps.

  4. There are stabilizers such as epoxy that might do the trick if there is enough good "structure" left to bond. But the other responder is probably right, replace the wood. It will be the best answer for quality and appearance.
