  1. caustic soda from wilkinsons its about £1.50

    It's potent stuff!

pour some around the plug area pour some boiling water in afterwards but make sure you stand back as it will froth e.t.c and you really don't want any of it on you.

  2. cant you just pour a tube of veet down there?

  3. No hair is almost indestructible in this situation. Chemicals will not unblock the hair.

  4. buy a bag of soda crystals (about 50p) put down waste & leave overnight then flush thro next day

  5. 3 girls in our house, all with waist length hair

same problem, now i buy a tube of cheap hair removal cream, and i mean CHEAP, from asda

wouldnt dare put the stuff on my skin, but once a week i squeeze a good wadge down the bath plug hole

and leave it overnight, then in the morning i run the hot tap for a few mins

    VOILA

    never looked back

  6. sulphuric acid

  7. Pop along to your nearest plumbers merchants, and buy some 'Blockbuster'. Pour it down the sink, and leave it for about an hour before you flus any water down. This should clear any blockage!

    ( My husband's a plumber)

  8. Oh please! Who starred this question?

You people dont deserve to live ¬_¬

  9. No I don't but why not just put a hair trap in the plug hole?

  10. Yes. There is a product called "Draino" which you pour down the sink and it works a treat. You can buy it in the supermarket or a hardware store. It comes in a big red bottle :)

  11. Use hair removal cream,Put a big dollop of it in and leave for an hour or so ,Then flush it out.

  12. ye u can buy powerful drain unblockers from harware stores

  13. A product called, Drain Buster.

I use it for the exact same reason and it works a treat

Oh make sure its the bathroom one, not the kitchen.

  14. would go with ianhad

Does she wash her hair in the sink then?  when pulling the plug, put a mesh filter into the plughole this'll trap it and then you just clean it out.

Think of the environment and please don't use harsh chemicals unnecessarily

  15. mr mussle foam

  16. Mr muscle sink & drain unblocker, then flush through with a kettle of boiling water

  17. Try thick bleach.

  18. i am in the states. I have done a lot of plumbing. Do you have plastic or metal pipes?

This is for metal pipes: I can still find a metal U bend (called a J trap) that has a removeable drain plug at the bottom of the J. But I have to go to a regular pumbing supply house for it. The local hardware stores dont carry it anymore. ask around,, it used to be the standard before everything became cheaply made.

Or use a liquid product like Liquid Plumber every 2 weeks--about 4 ounces.

If you have plastic pipes then you are better off just taking it apart once a month. chemicals just tear plastic up.

  19. Spirit of Salts - but be careful - very strong fumes. Or just use a plunger. Best solution would be a method to stop the hair going the plughole to begin with though...

  20. Strong washing soda solution, but not if you have any copper pipe involved.
