Is there anything that you can plug into a normal outlet to turn it in to a phone plug?

  1. You can get a converter that lets you extend phone lines over your electrical lines -- the problem is that your house is probably 2-phase, so you can only extend to about 1/2 of the house (unless you buy 2 converters.)

    I live in the sticks -- and this was a common problem here. The units are really common - at radio-shack, and walmart.  I have one around here somewhere -- you can have it (we retired our wired phones for mobile phones about 6  years ago.)


  2. Just get a cordless phone with multiple handsets and use the outlet to charge it.  Here's one of many from Circuit City...
