  1. no, but theres a lot of sites that you can turn the tides on them. next time, don't just hang up, act like you called them and offer them a ridiculous little object for what should seem like a small fortune. By the way, I really need the best answer points. PLEASE!

  2. If you put yourself on the do not call registry, you can take legal action if they contact you.  Note that politicians are exempt from this list; they can always contact you.

  3. If you are in the UK you can contact the telephone preference service, follow the automated instructions and within a month you should find that you no longer receive these calls.

The telephone preference number is in the front of your telephone book 0845 07 007 07 (page 5 in my book)

I have been on this service for 2/3 years and until recently had no calls but just recently I have been getting an automated recording which I just leave on until they disconnect - their cost.  I think this is a randomly number generated call which is difficult to control.

  4. i don't think so.

i've been getting those telemarketer calls where it's a recorded message, if you listen to the end (i know, grueling ) they'll tell you to press a number to remove your number from their list. however only one company likes to mess with me. they keep calling back and telling me to punch in different numbers.
