  14. Currently daylight. But it's been taxed before when rates were assessed by the number of windows in a building. I wouldn't be surprised if some Brussels Gnome didn't reprise the idea.

  15. Windows.

Believe it or not there was once a window tax.

  16. Not very much

  19. A famous 19th century British prime minister, Benjamin Disraeli MP once said, "everything is taxable".

Keep your eye on that, because sooner or later the politicians will come up with new ways to tax us.  Especially they will invent new 'stealth' taxes.

Someone, your first responder, said he thought oxygen was not taxed, yet.  Actually, the air we breath is taxed, but in a roundabout way. Heavy polluting vehicles for example pay more tax than less heavy polluting vehicles etc.  A kind of air tax if you will.

So far we have no tax on food here in UK.  Most of the rest of the EU does have food tax by way of VAT on foods sold in the shops.

Sooner or later FOOD will be TAXED here in UK.  It's just a matter of time.  My guess is that Labour will not touch it with a ten foot poll, but I'm not so sure about the Tories.
