  1. Go to www.realtor.com and look for houses that are for sale in your area.  Find houses that are similar to yours and note their listing price.  Make sure to check things such as square footage, # bedrooms, # bathrooms, lot size, basement, covered parking spaces... all of that makes a difference.

Also check your local newspaper, many of them list realestate transactions so you can see what prices for local houses are selling for.

If you know of any houses in your area that are similar to yours that have sold recently, you can also go to your county's Auditor's website.  Do a google search for "aaaaa County Auditor".  Most Auditors are online and you can search for a property and see recent sales prices.

Also on the auditor websites, you can see appraisal values.  But these are often inaccurate, but can give you a ball park idea.

  2. For a good idea of market value, drive around your neighborhood to search for houses that are comparable (square footage, number of rooms, etc.) to yours that are for sale and pick up the flyers if available, or go to their real estate agent's website to find out info on the home.

This is the easiest and fastest way.

  3. 1.search the net for homes for sale within 5 miles of your home with the same basic criteria as your home. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 3 acres..etc.

If the homes you see are similiar in appearance I think this will good you a good reference point.

    2. typically there is a formula you use for your accessed value or taxable value that will help determine your homes worth. This may not necessarilly be the same percentage points in the current market.

  4. You can try this website:

    www.zillow.com

  5. hmm its worth about £5...dont worry Ill buy it from you...;-)
