I want to trade in my Pantech Duo for the new iPhone 3G, but I still have about a year and a half left for my contract. Is there a way I could get out of it without big fees?

  1. Not that i know of. Im prettty sure every place has a big fee

  2. yes if anyone wants to take the account over and is approved but if not then U call in your self and cancell it then you pay large fine. here in Canada its any ware from 200-400 so Please becarefull I am on 3 yr term with Rogers on Blackberry on a business account love it they charge me almost close to 100 a month I am paid weekly and paid from worker every month from my work $

  3. Lateley I've heard that they've passed some sort of a law that doesn't let cellphone companies charge you on ending contracts early. They might be still working on the law, maybe it hasn't been passed yet. But if I were you, I would wait just a little more for 2 reasons:

    1. To check if the law has been passed so you don't have to pay a big fee

    2. Later this year, the iPhone 3G's price might go down.

It's all in the website. Check it out! I hope I helped!

  4. There are potentially two options:

    1.  The new provider will 'buy out' your old contract from your existing plan however that could ding your credit score.

    2.  You can find someone to take over your plan and have the cell companies agree to it.

  5. umm it depends what service you have.

I have U.S. Cellular & they let me trade in my old phone for a Razor (they just switched the remaining time left on my contract from one phone to another.)
