Is there anyway a person can become a resident or at least to have a temporary permit to be in usa?

not if you came here on a tourist visa, unless your company sponsors you (which is difficult nowadays) or if you marry a US citizen.  

you cannot just "apply for citizenship" as other users have posted...  you need residency before you apply for citizenship.  

good luck!  it's worth talking to your employer about sponsoring you.
