  1. Maybe, if it has Ethernet port... have a look... check the owners manual... If so, it's a likely possibility... depending on the file system the DVR uses, and how it compresses the video files

  2. Three ways to do it:

1.You can record saved shows in realtime by connecting an S-Video cable to most any DVD recorder. You cannot use the USB port, it will be disabled. If you have a firewire connection on your STB (and it is enabled by your Cable Company)the raw video data can be transferred to a PC via 169Time. You might do a net search on this 169time.

                                               OR

2.You will need to have a tv tuner card. Use a splitter on the RF output and use the extra output as input to a tuner card in your PC, or connect the RF to a VCR.

                                               OR

3.Use the firewire connection to download the files.

"Firewire capture and HD/SD to DVD guide."

Regardless of how you do it you'll need software because the files are in motorola transport stream format so they need converting. HDTVtoMPEG2.exe does a good job, it even has simple edit function that will allow one to edit out commecials.

    Hope this Helps !!!
