Is there anyway i can fined out if my boss is paying my tax

i have been working for my company now for 2 years now and have never had a pay slip or a p60 at the end of each tax year.when i ask my boss for them he just says he has them all in a file.should he be giving me them at the end of each week.how do i know if he is paying my tax for me and if he is not can i get done for it.

  1. Does it need a rocket scientist to work it out. Kinda obvious is it not?


  2. Check your contract - make sure it is him that is suppose to be paying it and not you, you might find he's got you on his books as self employed and then you'll have to pay the back taxes.  

  3. I wouldn't worry. If he is employing you and paying your salary it is his liability to deduct tax first. So if he hasn't he has a big IR bill coming. I am not sure about NI though, I suspect the same.

  4. It is unlawful not to provide payslips or P60's.

    Report the matter to HMRC - they will not tell your boss where they got their info from.
