Is there anyway i can keep songs on my ipod without having them in my library?!?!?

i recently got a new computer which i am taking with me to school. all the songs on my ipod are synced to my family's home computer. my question is, is there anyway to keep the songs i have now, and simply add to the collection with my new computer without importing my whole library over to my new computer

  1. Yes and no.  If you click to "manually manage" then you can pick and choose which songs to drag onto your iPod.  But Apple doesn't let you take songs from the iPod to your computer (no sharing allowed!).  

    You'll have to find a program on the internet that will let you do that.  They are available for all platforms.


  2. When iTunes is open, under the devices tab you'll see your iPod listed. Click on the iPod icon and there are 4 little check boxes, one of them which says, "Manually manage music and Video."
