I have a DXG model 301V camera. I took nearly 1000 pictures and put them on a computer. Unfortunately my computer crashed and i lost all the pictures. The pictures had already been deleted from my camera. I was wondering if there is anyway to get the pictures. Some of these pictures might actually be worth money if you can help me out that would be very much appreciated.

  2. Hi there....  What a disaster!!!!   Not good!!!  But you already know that.  : ((   The answer is short and not so sweet.     I am the bearer of bad news because it happened to me 3 months ago.    Take your computer into a computer repair shop where the geeks work.....   and ask if they will test it to see if there is a few minutes left where they can recover as much as time will allow.  If that is too late... then it still can be recovered,  but the process is very complicated.  Worse than that...  it will cost you anywhere from $900.00 to $1500.00.   It can be done...I was told that,  but the pictures I had on my (only one year old) computer were not of such importance that I would pay those big bucks  to recover them.    You will learn the lesson I had to.... get a external hard drive to store your pictures on... or make  a CD  -  DVD's will hold more -  of your pics for security and insurance.  Hope I was able to help...  though no one is happy when this happens.

PSS:   If you live in the Houston area,  email me,  as the people I used to get my computer up and running again.. only charged $98.00   Good Luck

  3. Yes, you will need a tool that can undelete files (specifically for FAT16/32 partitions). Cruising around Download.com I found Recover Files 2 (high editor and user rating), which should do that job (link in the source). I, however, have not personally used it.

I'm sure many more people with more personal experience on file recovery will post here anyway, but g'luck.

also, if you have overwritten stuff on the flash drive in the camera, you have somewhat less of a chance of recovering anything useful
