  1. Over PSTN landline, generally speaking, no.  But, if you have highspeed Internet, it is possible to send faxes over Internet while you are talking on your regular telephone.

Or, it is possible to use VoIP over Internet for phone calling while you use your regular phone line for Faxing.

Or, it is possible to use highspeed Internet to do both VoIP phone calling and Faxing at the same time - just depends on your service provider and equipment you use.

  2. Yes, there is a switch or adapter that  is sold especially for that purpose.

  3. not at the SAME time.. you can not be on the phone while faxing something... but you can share a line for phone and fax...

most modern fax machines can tell the diffrence between voice and data calls.. set the fax to "tel/fax" and plug the "line" jack into the phone jack, and plug the phone into the "ext" jack on the fax machine..

if this doesn't work then you will need to get a fax switch sold at staples, office max or something like that...

the fax switch has several ports, one plugs into the phone jack, one plugs into the fax, and one (or more) plug into your phone(s)

the switch will send all fax calls to the fax machine only, and all voice calls to the phone(s) only

  4. yes you should to get an adapter and then set your fax machine up that way. i am believing that you have a fax /phone combo?
