  1. What is poly filler? Is this polyester resin? Was it mixed in two parts? If it is something that depends on a chemical reaction to complete the hardening, you can apply heat. Since this is on the ceiling, you could try a blow dryer on it. Heat will accelerate the chemical reaction.

If this is some kind of product that air-dries, then again, the hair dryer might help you.

If this is a polyester resin based product, is it new? These resins definitely have a shelf life and do not behave correctly when they exceed their recommended shelf life.

  2. Old filler makes Polyfilla (or any other celluslose filler) go off much quicker for some strange reason. As you now have it in, I think you will have to be patient.

A couple of things r****d drying - too much water in the mix and putting it on too quickly, or having a damp background. A bit of heat should speed thing up but don't overdo it as it will crack up. Postpone painting if it isn't dry as the paint will fail.

  3. Are you sure that you used Polly filler and not tooth paste, should have gone off by now.

  4. paint remover gun, or a hair-dryer might do the trick. Pollyfilla should harden in a lot less time than 5hrs. How thick have you put it on, and how big were the holes you tried to fill?

  5. if  its  taking  that  long  to dry   then something is  wrong    Polly  filler  takes  about       15  mins    to dry          unless it   is  a deep    hole   but  not    5  hours    ..Is  there a  leak     above the ceiling    is the ceiling  damp
