  1. The surfing-waves website has a good beginners section:

    http://www.surfing-waves.com/beginners_g...

Nothing beats having a one-on-one lesson for learning how to surf.  You need to know where to go to begin, what type of board, best conditions etc.  If you go it alone, you are more likely to make the wrong decision and could cause yourself or someone else some serious damage.

If you're gonna do it, do it right. ;)

  2. http://surfing.about.com/cs/surfinstruct...

That might help a bit, but I think it'll be kind of hard to learn without actually experiencing it.

  3. haha!  learn to surf online?  no.

surfing is learned in the water.  there are some important things to know before getting in the water.  you can go over those with somebody who knows the sport, and probably find them online, but you learn to surf by getting in the water and charging.

  4. Sure there is.  Go to http://www.extreme.com/video/tricks_tips... and scroll to the bottom under Tricks and Tips Surf.  You won't 'learn to surf' from watching this but it will at least visually put you in a better position than NOT watching it.

Btw, learn to stand in the whitewash FIRST before trying to catch waves and stand.  You will only frustrate yourself and others in the lineup if you try and learn all at once in the lineup.

  5. kay there is no website that can teach u how to surf before u go to the bech but maybe at the beach u can hire a surf coach to teach u there or u can  go to a surf class  But rember surfing is a pretty easy sport so u can practily teach urself :] i surf

  6. one girl said surfing was a pretty easy sport....i dont agree. i am a sponcered surfer by billabong and roxy and von zipper..

    surfing gets a lot harder.

i sugest learning on a longboard to start out on. then move to a shortboard.

any questions? email me at i_surf_im_hott@yahoo.com

  7. It's a waste of time... It's like asking you to describe the color yellow to me.

Get a 9'0 board go to a slow wave and stay away from everyone except the person helping you.  Spend an hour falling over and I promise you'll eventually get up.
