Yesterday not paying much attention I turned on a burner on my stove top and I melted a tupperware lid that was on top of the burner. As it cooled the plastic hardened but it was to hot to clean while it was melted...What can I do?

  1. If it is elelctric, remove the element, scrape off what you can. Use sandpaper if necessary.  Return element, turn on burner, open window and the remainder should burn/smoke off.

DO NOT INHALE THE SMOKE/FUMES !!!

  2. no ur an idiot. i mean honestly who melts tupperware? michael jackson would hav done better than u

  3. it should peel off when it is cooled off. If not. put a rag you can throw away over it, and lay a hot iron on top of that. the heat will melt the plastic onto the hot rag and then you can peel it off the burner.

  4. Maybe not the solution for getting the plastic off, but FYI if you go to your local appliance parts supplier, replacement electric coil burners (The most common kind, look like a swirly spiral) are actually fairly cheap, most ranging under 20 dollars. Look up your local place in the phone book with your model number and they should be able to help you!
