  1. Not under any circumstances, but if it was childhood epilepsy then it is possible, in some "support" role,( i.e. a civilian, assisting the Territorial .Army, . or troops, such as in the NAAFI, but you are a risk, in a combat situation, and you would require the presence of a person to ensure your health, the very reason that the enemy shoot to wound, because it draws, men from the field of battle,to care for the wounded,  thereby putting 2 out of action with one shot, I would suggest that you think about the risk to others, not just yourself, and look elsewhere for a job....for everyones sake....

  2. sadly i dont think you will be able to join up

i dont know about the ta

or apply to be a trainer in the army cadets

    good luck

  3. No sorry you can't. I'm diabetic and could not join when I was younger.

  4. I don't think you can. Best thing is ask your local recruiter what your options are or better yet ask your GP doctor what options there are.

If you need a lay-man's reasoning about how epilepsy can affect you it has to do with the possibility of bright flashes or CRT screen flickers putting you into a fit. Maybe it hasn't ever happened to you but that's why the telly news presenters sometimes say "this footage comes with a warning of extreme flash photography" (or such).

    Good luck whatever happens.

  5. Nope, sorry, epilepsy is a disqualifier!

  6. No. History of epilepsy after age 6 is disqualifying for entry. However, if you have been seizure free for five years or more, while being medication free, and have a normal electroencephalogram, it is possible to enter the service.
