I received one threatening phone call on Tuesday. I assumed it was a prank call until my deployed hubby called me. I told him about it and he told me i need to call and see what can be done about it, then he tells me about what has been going on with a husband of a deployed female solider. Her husband is very jealous and has threatened to break my husband's knees because he goes running with her.

i called the phone company yesterday and they told me that unless i do *57 (call trace) right after the call there is nothing they can do. They said if i get any incoming calls after the call i want to trace but before i trace it there is nothing i can do. Basically the call on Tuesday is lost and if it happens again to *57 it. (This is a home phone we are talking about not a cell phone) the command is looking into weather this guy is the one who did it or not. I am not sure how they'll ever know when there really is nothing that can be done according to the phone comany.

  1. Call the police and file a complaint. All telephone and cellular switching centers are now computerized. They can get the number from the phone company. All call records are kept on files either in the phone companies switch, on magnetic tap or disk. The person at the phone company that you talked to may or may not no that.

  2. yes, you phone co. is correct, but now you have to act!!

The phone company will not tell you anything, so don't even ask them!! Just protect yourself!!

go to Radio Shack and get that little recording device....its about 20+ dollars....here is a pic....!

just plug it in between the wall outlet and the phone, its voice activated. You dont have to buy a new tape-recoder, just take any old tape-recorder...!

  3. *57 is a good way to trace the call, but the only people who have access to that trace are the  authorities.  If you go to the police, they will be able to retrieve the trace, the phone company has no access to it.  Thats if you actually get to do *57.

If he doesnt call again, there is nothing that can be done.
