why catholic or protestant?? when u are catholic u could get support from the catholic church but if ur not then support  if so is very limited.

There are a number of scholarships loosely connected with the ev. or kath. Church available to foreigners. www.daad.de lists them, but they are usually limited to students who are exceptionally good or already in their 2nd or 3rd year of study in Germany.
