  1. You can never really add megapixels to the original photo  but you may be able to resize it larger

As DL said upsizing you usually lose quality, it can be done with resampling to reduce the impact. On photoshop make sure the box for resampling is checked when you resize and choose the proper algorythm. Most texts suggest bicubic smoother but I like the results I get with bicubic sharper so I usually use that one, There are also porgrams like genuine fractals that claim they can increase the photo 1000 percent without image qaulity loss

    Good luck

  2. You can't really add pixels.  That is CSI science fiction.   What you got is what you have.  Take the digital file to a pro photo lab and they will tell you how much they can enlarge it without losing any quality.

  3. simply resizing the pic will make it bigger. but you will lose resolution and add noise and possibly pixelation. software can make pics bigger but they do it by interpolating (guessing) what each pixel added should look like. unfortunately the guesses arent all that great.

  4. This won't help you with your immediate problem, but it's a neat trick for taking a much larger picture than your camera is capable of in the future.

You can take four or more pictures of the same scene - photograph the lower left, the lower right, the upper left and the upper right, using the same exposure and overlapping the edges a little.  In Photoshop CS3, you can use the "Merge Images" option to stitch them all together into one big image.  If your camera can take an 8 megapixel image, this one is 32 megapixels, or a little less.

  5. You can't add pixels, however you can magnify your picture using modern image enlargement techniques, they preserve details quite well. For example check this free website:
