I am doing my research to get a flat screen tv. I am planning to go to best buy and hhgregg type of stores to look for flat screens. I don't like to buy online because I rather buy it in person. Is there anyway that I can negotiate the price of a flat screen tv? If so what are some ways I can try to make them lower the cost?

  1. howtohaggle.com has what your looking for

  2. Offer them half.

If they lower the price, offer them half.

If they lower again, offer half.

If they get pissed and offer it free, tell them you'll take two.

  3. As a Best Buy employee I will tell you that the best way to negotiate a price is to buy something they have listed as EOL.  This is a product that is "End Of Life" meaning that it has already had it's run, and will not be stocked anymore.  There are penalties involved when we can not sell these products.  We almost gave away an EOL receiver just so we wouldn't take a penalty on it.  If you do not want to wait you can try haggling down the price of an "open box" item.   This however, I will warn you, I never haggle on open box.  You can however get a good deal on a flat screen that is missing a pedestal if you will be wall mounting.
