Okay, I've heard that people can put out candles with their fingers put I don't want to risk burning myself.

Any other ideas?

  1. My sister gave me something called a "wick dipper". It is a 10" wrought iron stem with a little bend at the end (it is bent into a heart at the top - cute). You use it to dip the wick down into the candle. Snuffs it out and no candle smoke - which burns my eyes/sinuses! Just make sure to lift the wick back up out of the wax. Sorry, I don't know where she got it!

  2. Spit on your fingers and pinch the wick. It doesn't hurt at all!

  3. Use a pencil or something and push the wick into the melted wax it will go out and there will be no smoke

  4. They make these little metal "cups" that go right over the flame. The flame goes out because there is no oxygen underneath!

  5. squirt gun or foil pinch

  6. I'm curious to know why you cant blow on it..... but anyway, there are those candle things that look like a long stick with a bell on it.... you smother the candle.... its designed for the purpose so you dont spray wax when you blow... you can find them in any gift store i assume....

  7. Gold Canyon Candles and (probably) Yankee candles sell a wick dipper.  Or, you could just bend a wire hanger and make your own.  Just a little hook to push the wick over into the wax to extinguish it, then pull it back out and stand it upright.  It's very easy and clean...  If you use a snuffer, you will still get a lot of the black smoke blowing around...

  8. i don't know...blowing it seems like a pretty good idea

  9. Yes, you can use a candle "snuffer".  Basically, you cover the candle with a fireproof object without touching the wick (usually metal), or in the case of a container candle with a cover, just put the cover on.  This removes the burning flame's source of oxygen and the candle with go out or "snuff" out.  You can actually purchase candle snuffer's at many stores.  This also cuts down on accidentally blowing hot wax onto the table or table cloth when blowing out candles.

  10. Snuff it with a candle snuffer - it is a metal bowl that stops oxygen getting to the flame.

Pinching won't hurt though - l**k your fingers then just pinch the top of the wick - easy!
