My 2nd toe is longer than my big toe, so whenever I run for a long time, my 2nd toenail starts to bruise and turn blue. This happens all the time, and it hurts!!! especially when I'm forced to run sprints. XC season is here, and i need to beast this year!!!

Is there anyways to prevent this besides cutting off my toe?

  1. Buy running shoes that fit you!

  2. first thing see if you that toe it jamming the tip of the shoe because if it is that's the main problem you can try a bigger pair of shoes and also going to you athletic trainer if your i high school and have him wrap your toes. there experienced in this area.

    so try new shoes.

    or tapeing your toes.

and mainly if your in high school there is a athletic trainer and he will help you big time he will do anything to fix it.

  3. I have this issue too sadly and mine tend to bleed instead of bruise. My remedy for this is to place the little round patches for corns that you can buy at any drug store[[sounds disgusting]] on the tip and the sides of my toe. It works a whole lot because the patches provide cushion.

  4. wrap soemthing around your nails before you run

  5. Going to suck having to do this every time you run long, but your going to have to tape it with either athletic or duct tape.  Had this happen 2 or 3 times (lost the nail after about 4-6 weeks).  Hope this helps stop this problem, give it a try.....good luck!
