Hi, i moved into a new house, and i get about 5 telemarketer calls everyday. Its really annoying, and i already changed my phone number but to no avail. Is there anything i can do to get telemarketers to stop calling me or at least reduce it? Also, I get another 5 calls from people who hang up when i say hello which is even more irritating. Anything i can do to find out their number or block it? Thanks.

  1. donotcall.com

  2. One method that I have tried and had successful results is purchasing identity security. Not only does it stop pesky automated calls, but also helps out with identity theft. Once I got that, I stopped getting junk mail, pre-approved credit card offers, and auto insurance offers.

A good service cost a little less than $100/yr. It's worth the investment, and the added security is a bonus.

  3. they do have a national block list for them but tell them to call me. I like when they call me cause it gives me someone to talk to. I kept one on the phone for an hour and a half i couldnt believe they stayed on but i know they were mad when i hung up on them after all that. haha

  4. When they call, press the hash key 6 times and hang up.

This takes you off there list.

  5. Tell them to put u on ur do not call list, even though they never do, then just start ignoring them, or if u have a son/daughter, put him/her on the phone and tell him to make the most annoying noise he can think of (or just scream at the top of his/her lungs) thats wat i do!

  6. Put your number into the National Do Not Call Registry.

It should take a few days to stop them. For hangups, immediately try to call your phone company and see if they can block it or trace it.

Also, I had to call my cable company directly and have then stop telemarketers. They have a sneaky contract that allows them unless you say otherwise.

Although, I once blew a whistle into a phone as loud as I could.(there was no call registry then) No, not very mature, but it worked, they never called back, lol.

  7. Register your phone number(s) with the do not call registry.

Don't press anything, you may not hear the same automated message that others may hear.  After all, they'll do anything to take your money.
