I received to threatening phone calls. Messages were left on my machine. Is there ANY way to find out who the calls came from? I would pay money! My local police dept. said they don't deal with that, but the state police might. I didn't call them yet. I'm sure they won't do anything about it. My mom works for the phone company and she doesn't know how they do it.

  1. complain your service provider and ask them to provide you list of calls that has been terminated on your number.

  2. you have to go through the police and they will get the information from the phone company, if the police wont sort it there is no way without a high tech hacker

  3. depending on the phone provider, you could get a code to unlock it. in vancouver where im from we use *69 or *67 and it tells you the number that called you. but only the last number. what you should most probably do is get a police officer or state officer to stay at ur home iwth you and when they call let the police listen on the answering machine. if not then call the police and state that someone has been thretening you and by law they have to do something unless they are corrupt and expect payment for them to help you.

  4. Yes, there are ways to trace the phone calls. A legal way would be to contact the FBI. Since the patriot act came into play, they can pretty much do anything with impunity when it comes to tracking down people.

  5. Local and State police have NO jurisdiction on phone calls. Try going to the FBI as this is a federal crime, and make a copy or take the phone messages to them.

  6. well that's pretty scary, but probably just someone fooling around.  I don't think you can trace them now, it needs to be done while they are calling.  See if you can set up your phone so that it doesn't accept blocked calls, I think most companies do this, you just have to call.  Or if you have digital phone, you can do it online (we did).
