People are currently looking at ways of using bacteria to break down garbage into different fuels like ethanol.  However, garbage dumps are currently collecting the methane given off during the decomposition process and processing the methane into usable fuel for local businesses like green houses.

Honestly...no. But you can cut down on it a lot.

Look for products that are made from recycled products.

Recycle anything you can(there's a lot of stuff that you can recycle)

Reduce your waste.

Use less stuff!

Buy stuff with minimal packaging.

You can compost a lot of your trash, and recycle a lot of it (which also pollutes, but...).  Other than that, no.  So consume less.  Buy stuff in bulk, locally, etc.
