Question:

Is there anywhere in Birmingham that sells Japanese food? I'm looking for a shop, not a restaraunt.?

I'm looking for somewhere that sells dango and mochi, is there a region similar to Chinatown or Oriental City in London, but in Birmingham? Surely the South doesn't get all the good stuff? I know I can buy stuff online but I'd really like to be able to walk round and browse.

  1. There are some places on this site. Good luck.

  2. Wing Yip Chinese but has a seperate Japanese section, as well as a decent selection of fresh produce. Prices are about as good as you’ll get in London, especially if buying in bulk.

There is a small Korean grocery on Bristol Rd., near Selly Oak station, which also carries Chinese and Japanese groceries.
