Is there anywhere that I can look online for details of births registered in Belfast?

I am trying to locate details of my grand-father who was born in 1916. I have his death certificate, but not the birth.

I have access to ancestry.co.uk but can not seem to find the info I require.

Do I have to go to my local library to find this info, Kew or Belfast?

  1. british census 1916 on line

  2. Your local LDS family history centre will have the indexes for Northern Ireland Births, Marriages and Deaths.

Look in the phone book under Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Once you have the reference, you can obtain a certificate from GRO, Oxford House, Chichester Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, BT1 4HL.

  3. Here's the web site address for both the UK mainland, GRO and PRONI,

    http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

    http://www.proni.gov.uk/

I would try PRONI first if I were you, hope this helps.
