Is there anywhere that I can read books online for free?

With out downloading them. I'm looking for a Victoria Holt book called King of the Castle and I haven't been able to find it.

Try calling your local library and ask them if there's any way you can do that.

Or try checking out the book or audio book there. Even if they don't have it on the shelf, ask the librarians at the reference desk, and they can most likely order it for you from another library in the city or county system. I just looked at my county library's catalog, and we seem to have a few copies of the book and audio book.

If the book you mentioned is not in the public domain, then you won't find it legally on the internet, and I am not going to recommend any illegal site.

But if the book you are looking for is in the public domain (is a classic) then you can try out:
