My husband and I are in our mid fifties and good drivers. Our son is 23 and considered a high risk driver which really raises our rates if he is on our policy. If he is on his own policy then he can't drive our cars because he lives in our household .even with our permission any suggestions

  4. You CANNOT have it both ways.

Get him his OWN policy and exclude him from yours.

Let him grow up and change his driving habits before putting him back on YOUR policy.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  5. In the state of Ohio if you do not own a vehicle but you drive other people's vehicles you can get a "driving bond" insurance policy which covers you to drive any vehicle as long as you DON'T own it (then you would need a personal auto policy) Call around and see if that's available for your state.

  6. There used to be coverage called fleet insurance that covered all the vehicles owned by a business. This was over 10 yrs ago in NJ, but I don't know if its still available.

  7. If he is a high risk driver, then he can only drive vehicles registered in his name.

  8. You need to get him off of your policy and onto one of his own.
