Is there away to make home made plastic?

Is there a way to make plastic from basic house hold stuff? Like urathane type plastic.

yes with plastic milk jugs disolved in MEK--methyl/ethyl/ketone.

You can buy MEK at home depot in the paint section.

Keep it disloved in a tite container until you pour it out. once the highly volatile mek evaporates it leaves behind the plastic.

VERY flamable. Toxic vapors--use only outdoors. use only with metal containers.

i don't think you want to mess around with that. if you aren't careful it can easily give you cancer or be life threatening. also if the wind blows the vapors into another house and they get ill over that its your *** on the line legally. leave that to the big company's and buy what you need at a store.

Polyurethane or "urethanes" can refer to many different types of plastic, ranging from rubber type to solid... You cannot and should not even attempt to make any type of Polyurethane as the process involves isocyanates which are quite toxic...

It was a long time ago, but you can make plastic from milk and white vinegar... google it to find out the exact procedure....
