Is there bats in Newfoundland Canada?

I was just wondering if there are any bats in Newfoundland Canada if so where and what type(s)?

Yes, there are bats in Newfoundland, though I have not often seen them there.  They are more common on the west coast of the island part of the province than anywhere else.  Here are a couple of sites with information about bats in Newfoundland.

Bats are found across Canada, and mostly come out at dusk or early evening. That is when the mosquitos, moths and small flies are more active. They use sound waves to locate and catch the bugs that they eat.

They prefer dark secluded spots, and will roots in large trees, caves, or even inside a gable roof that has a small opening that allows them to crawl in and hide during the day.

They will often be found close to a water source, like a pond or lake, as their favorite meal is bugs that have an aquatic stage in their life cycle, such as mosquitos that hatch from eggs left in standing water.

Bats are amazing creatures, and have been given a bad reputation with all the vampire movies from the past horror movies. A colony of bats living in your area will mean a lot fewer bites for you from the local mosquito population.

We have them, but I have never seen one in 17 years of living here. I'm told we had one in our cabin over the summer, thankfully I wasn't there to see it or deal with it. I hope it's not still there, as the long weekend is coming up ...

There are bats in all the province of Canada, mostly the common and small brown bat, in areas were agriculture is a big industry I have heard some fruit bats being found.

Bats tend to roost in trees and in St John's, I worked there as a chef back years ago in a hotel, there are not alot of big trees so in the outer areas of the city and country side more would be around, but no Vampires if your wondering??
