what is cheapest way to get ticket for that way?

is there any kind of "work" train ticket, one-line ticket, station-to-station-one-week ticket?

(in Poland that Im from is loads of this kind of options for student/working person for any kind of transportation. Im lookig over internet, google, rail websites, yahoo answers, anywhere and simply got lost - couldn't find way out)

  1. The answer is simply 'yes'. In the UK what you are looking for is a 'season ticket' which is issued covering periods of a week, month, three/six months or a year. These give a considerable saving over buying a seperate ticket for each journey. If you are under 25(?) you can also obtain a young person's railcard whcih will give you further savings. There are, no longer, workingmens tickets in the UK, however.

Services between Hither Green and Dunton Green are provided by SouthEastern Trains. This is the website:-http://www.southeasternrailway.co.uk/ind...

Follow the link to season tickets - six months and annual tickets can be brought on line, others at  the station

For the Young Persons - oops, 16-25 Railcard, see:- http://www.16-25railcard.co.uk/

  2. An ordinary return ticket is £9.80, a cheap day return (though not valid when working people want to travel) is £5.10. You can get a 7-day season ticket for £33.50.

  3. We used to have cut price worker's tickets here in UK but no longer.  They were for workers who travelled before 7am.

There's one strange anomoly concerning the price of train tickets here in UK.  In that, it is cheaper to buy a return ticket from Cardiff to London and back rather than from London to Cardiff and back.  Same journey, same track, but cheaper from Wales.

Now, it might be worth investigating if there's any different in ticket price say from Dunton Green to Hither Green and return and see what the price is the other way around.

I mean, if you find that it's cheaper to buy a one week travel card covering Dunton Green to Hither Green - all you need to do is buy a single ticket on the Monday and when you get to Dunton Green buy your weekly travel card there.

I'm not saying it's cheaper, but it might be worth checking out.

    Good luck.

  4. Ask at the station. They'll tell you of any passes you could get.

  5. The cheapest way of travelling during the Peak times would be to get an Annual season ticket (this covers you for the whole year but you only pay for 200 days worth of travel, plus a discount on all other off peak fares if you go elsewhere), otherwise the Monthly season ticket which reduces the price (paying for approx 16 days instead of 28) and then weekly (normally around 4 days instead of 7), if you ask the ticket clerk at the station next time you go in, they can quickly call up all 3 fares and quote them so you can check the savings on the ticket prices and how much you pay now.

If you only travel off peak, then there is no real saving you can make as the Network Card has a minimum fare now of £10 mon to fri, travelling after 10am.

Sorry cant be much more help than that. But good luck
